What consequences does the remuneration of central bank reserves have for the profits of commercial banks and central banks? Economist Paul De Grauwe from the London School of Economics addressed this topic as part of a talk given at the Bundesbank on 4 September 2023.

At the invitation of the Institute of Banking of the Warsaw School of Economics (Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie, SGH), Prof. Urs Lendermann held a lecture in the Polish capital on "International Cooperation in Banking Regulation". In the future, the two universities want to intensify their cooperation.

The People’s Bank of China and the Bundesbank have renewed the partnership between their universities. The agreement extending the arrangement was signed by Kang Yitong, Dean of the People’s Bank of China School of Finance, and Erich Keller, Rector of the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences, at the German embassy in Beijing.

In a speech delivered at the University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg, Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann spoke to students about the challenge of putting monetary union on a sound long-term footing.

Benjamin M. Friedman, the William Joseph Maier Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University, addressed central banks’ battle against inflation and the implications for monetary policy in a speech delivered on 7 July 2023.
