Closer cooperation agreed with the University of Toulon
From 25 to 27 September 2023, the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences played host to Professor Cécile Bastidon, Professor Nicolas Huchet and Olivier Radelet, lecturers at the University of Toulon’s Faculty of Economics and Management. This was Mr Radelet’s second time in Hachenburg, as he had already become acquainted with the university in his capacity as spokesperson for the European Central Bank’s cash activities.
Together with Erich Keller, Rector of the Bundesbank’s University, his deputy Andreas Kremer, full-time lecturers Uwe Schollmeyer and Andreas Igl and other colleagues, the guests explored potential areas for future cooperation activities and agreed upon exchange opportunities for students (beginning in 2024) and lecturers (starting at the end of this year), subject to the approval of the respective institutions.
The teaching programmes of the two universities are highly complementary: the Bundesbank’s University will contribute its expertise in the area of monetary economics as well as in banking and financial supervision to the University of Toulon’s “Banking, Finance, Insurance” master’s degree programme. The Hachenburg students will, in turn, benefit from their French partner institution’s media expertise, in addition to its modern and excellently equipped video and media facilities. Everyone involved is delighted to be promoting the exchange of students and lecturers between neighbour countries, thereby fostering mutual understanding. The next meeting is set to take place in Toulon.
